Brida

It's amazing how some books manage to give you new insight to life each time you read them..like brida......read it just the second time and already devoting another post to it........especially want to share a few of the beautiful quotes from it....

"Anyone who tries to possess a flower will have to watch its beauty fading. But if you simply look at a flower in a field, you will keep it forever, because the flower is part of the evening and the sunset and the smell of damp earth and the clouds on the horizon"

"All wines should be tasted; some should only be sipped, but with others, drink the whole bottle..................... You can only know a good wine if you have tasted a bad one"

  1. Loved the first one. Thanks for sharing. :)

The second one is wonderful too, but I think it's an oft-repeated one and we can't give points to Coehlo for this thought. I just dug my notes to find this poem by Rumi-

    "Every object, every being,
is a jar full of delight.

    Be a conoisseur,
    and taste with caution.

Any wine will get you high.
Judge like a king, and choose the purest,

    the ones unadulterated with fear,
or some urgency about "what's needed."

Drink the wine that moves you
as a camel moves when it's been untied,

    and is just ambling about."

P.S. Felt like sharing the poem; I quite like this one. :) Maligning your favourites- not my intention.
    (That rhymed :D )

That can happen at times, if you leave it to span over a few days then it's difficult to complete...works well to read in a single flow...or as near that as possible
