Some people always stay in "supporting roles".They are not made to play the lead no matter what. They are either nice and likable or just funny. And that's all they ever will be.
Just like comedians WILL get laughed AT and not just have people laugh WITH them.
It's not fair.
But that's life and it stays that way. The sooner we accept it, the better. Why is it still difficult? I guess because we all want the lead and strive for it and failure hurts. Second best is not the same. Best in support is good and satisfying but it leaves you striving for more. Some of which you will never get.

Very nice thought ...
My view on this topic is every person plays different role in different situation and with different people...
like a person who lead at his work place can be supportive to kids and family.. so the best thing is to know the role because in any situation leader needs support and supporter also need leader... so choosing the correct role is key to success both personal and professionally

But it's like some people are always in the limelight, always admired , whereas others, no matter what they do, will always be just to support them and not for getting ahead thmesleves
Not to argue but the thing is if anyone wants to be in limelight than they may need to change the way they work because it is evident that current methodology is not working accordingly ... so it's personal decision whether to do things the way you do or do the things they people want it to be done ... one more thing talent can't be hidden for long ... so just give it a polish so that it's brightness could reach the world..
