What to strive for?

A few more questions that made me ponder recently...
Should happiness be the end result or the means?I mean suppose we aren't successful ...in some aspect...in work maybe...do we still deserve to be happy? Is happiness something we should earn or strive for?Is it ok to be happy even if you aren't successful?Or is being happy being succesful?Somehow i don't agree...we maybe happy and yet unproductive..so that isn't successful.

Of course another aspect to be considered is that we are only truly happy..in the long run when every aspect of life is right. But that doesn't usually happen and after a while we learn to accept thing as they are and still smile. Is that laziness or is that positive attitude? All i know is that it's much easier to be happy than and that we only truly give our best when we at peace with ourselves

  1. Again a nice one
I think the sucess and hapiness are two different things we should not be happy if we are sucessful with bad doings, cheating , hurting others... so i would say we should be happy if we have given our best to be sucessful, we are being honest in the process, we have not taken others share to fullfill ours ...sucess is completely irrelevent so all in all hapiness is not something which is from destination it's all about journey

  2. reply[ankur]But sometimes if we are nice people..i mean we don't cheat, hurt others but we aren't exactly very productive...maybe careerwise...as in not making a great deal of difference....then do we deserve to be happy?i mean what is success? To be content with ourselves..to know we have done our best..and dat is inner happiness also? And if dats not good enuf...?i mean aren't at our best sometimes..as in..not 100% productive..do we deserve to miserable?or is it still ok to be happy?

According to me we should be happy or we deserve to be happy if we are content with our self after giving our 100% ..And their is no point in being miserable if we have done all which we could ... being productive or not, successful or not depends on lots of other factors too which are not at all in our control the things like luck, destiny and many other.....

It makes sense not to be miserable when u have done your best. But the point....is it ok to be happy even if you realise that you haven't done your best?I feel it is ok because being miserable won't help, there is only a need to happily strive ahead
